Since 2005, African Scholar has helped connect individuals, educational institutions, and corporations through its online portal AfricanScholar.com. We've reached thousands of individuals annually with information about colleges and universities, careers, test preparation, study abroad and varsity life issues.
The portal provides information on scholarships available to African Students, colleges and universities, test preparation, entry level job and internship opportunities, as well as opportunities to interact with admissions specialists, scholarships administrators and other African students around the world.
The goal is to help parents and students navigate through the sometimes complicated admissions process and give Africans an opportunity to capitalize on opportunities available to them around the world. African Scholar competed its BETA test phase last year and based on feedback from current users, promises to release a more robust and effective tool in 2009.
African Scholar 2.0 will consist of updated scholarship databases from around the world; One of the largest databases of Post secondary schools; Expanded advice libraries that include admissions test preparation materials for the most popular study destinations around the world; Several blogs for administrators, students and teachers to communicate amongst each other; a career portal that focuses on entry level jobs for recent graduates; and other features to be announced upon the launch of African Scholar 2.0. In the meantime, African Scholar Maintains a blog called the Student Lounge that students and educators can access from time to time.
